The 2022 Virginia ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Plan, announced by Governor Glenn Youngkin, calls for a nuclear innovation hub to be established in the state and for a commercial small modular reactor to be deployed in southwest Virginia within the next decade.

Vistra has applied to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a 20-year operating licence extension for the two-unit Comanche Peak nuclear power plant in Texas. The current licences for Comanche Peak units 1 and 2 expire in 2030 and 2033, respectively.

Westinghouse Electric Company has signed Memoranda of Understanding with 22 companies in Poland that allow for cooperation on the potential construction of AP1000 reactors in the country as well as other potential projects in Central Europe.

Meanwhile, the US Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß has opened applications for a USD7 billion programme to create regional clean hydrogen hubs.

The US Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß has invited interested communities to apply for a share of USD16 million for resources to help them learn more about consent-based siting of used nuclear fuel management and interim storage. Meanwhile, the State of Nevada is seeking a resumption of the licensing procedures for the Yucca Mountain repository - with the aim of securing a permanent end to the project.

The California-based company has submitted a Licensing Project Plan to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission outlining Oklo's proposed engagement to support future licensing activities.

The Bulk Shielding Reactor - known as Building 3010 - is one of more than a dozen research reactors built at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since the 1950s, and is the first reactor at the Tennessee site to be demolished.
 

The US Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß has issued a new report based on public feedback to help inform its consent-based process to identify sites for the consolidated interim storage of the USA's used nuclear fuel. The department said it will work to build trust and relationships as the process goes forward.

¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Harbor has announced it is joining forces with the University of Toledo, major companies in the region and several US DOE laboratories to form an industry-led push to turn "the Midwest into a leading low-carbon fuel production centre".
