Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil signed four contracts and two agreements covering various aspects of nuclear fuel supplies with Westinghouse, The Institute of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß and Nuclear Research and Rosatom.

Westinghouse has launched what it calls a "game-changer" AP300 small modular reactor, a scaled-down version of its AP1000 reactor, with a goal for the first one to deliver power to the grid within a decade.

The Great Lakes Clean Hydrogen Hub coalition has submitted a full application for funding under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to create a nuclear-powered clean hydrogen hub to serve Ohio, Michigan, and parts of Pennsylvania and Indiana.
 

Two South Korean national financial institutions - Korea Trade Insurance Corporation and the Export-Import Bank of Korea - have each entered into agreements with Holtec International and Hyundai Engineering & Construction to provide financial support for SMR-160 projects around the world.

US small modular reactor developer NuScale Power is interested in investing in the Philippines, the country's President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos said during a five-day visit to the USA. He said NuScale plans to conduct a siting study in the Philippines.

Completion of the testing - which confirms that the reactor is ready for fuel load - is a major step towards commercial operations for the second AP1000 reactor at the site. The unit is projected to enter service towards the end of this year or early in 2024.

Agreements to cooperate on small modular reactors have been signed between South Korean and US companies during a visit by Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol to the USA. Doosan Enerbility and the Export-Import Bank of Korea signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate with NuScale Power, while SK and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power have agreed to collaborate with TerraPower.

Framatome received approval from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission to apply the company's suite of Advanced Codes and Methods to operating conditions with uranium-235 enrichments above the industry standard of 5%.

Brookhaven National Laboratory has announced the shipment of the first actinium-225 to be produced in a newly refurbished hot cell laboratory at the US Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß's lab. The new facilities will streamline production and shipment of the rare radioisotope for the development of new cancer treatments.

Up to 20 Holtec SMR-160 plants will be built in Ukraine under a cooperation agreement signed between Holtec International and Ukrainian national nuclear operator Energoatom. The agreement calls for the first plant to begin supplying power by March 2029.

Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation of the USA has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's Hyundai Engineering and SK E&C to conduct joint research and development for the commercialisation of Hydrogen Micro Hubs over the next five years.
