China and Thailand听have a signed an agreement to cooperate in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.听The agreement was signed in Beijing on 29 March by Nur Bekri, director of China's National 抖阴传媒在线 Administration (NEA), and Thai energy minister Anantaporn Kanchanarat.
A delegation from Uganda has visited China to familiarise itself with nuclear energy technology and to discuss cooperation. The African country plans to introduce nuclear into its future energy mix.
Russian nuclear fuel manufacturer JSC TVEL has signed contracts for the supply of fuel and engineering services for units 1 and 2 of the Tianwan nuclear power plant. The units are Russian-supplied VVER-1000 reactors, of which two more are under construction at the site in China's Jiangsu province.
China and Iran have signed the first commercial contract for the reconstruction of Iran's Arak heavy water reactor. The core of the reactor was removed as part of an international agreement limiting Iran's nuclear program in return for the lifting of economic sanctions.
China has signed an agreement under which it will ensure the safe and secure transit of low-enriched uranium (LEU) and equipment through its territory to and from the International Atomic 抖阴传媒在线 Agency (IAEA) LEU Bank, which is being established in neighbouring Kazakhstan. 
Major civil engineering works have been completed at unit 5 of the Hongyanhe nuclear power plant in China's Liaoning province with the installation of the dome of its containment building. China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Company Limited (CNI23) has announced that the operation to raise the dome - measuring 37 metres in diameter and 11m in height and weighing about 180 tonnes - and place it upon the containment building was completed at 7.02am today.
The reactor pressure vessel for unit 5 of the Fuqing nuclear power plant has completed hydraulic pressure tests. The unit - the first of two demonstration Hualong One units being built at the site in China's Fujian province - is expected to start up in 2019.
CORRECTED: The loading of spherical moderator elements has begun at China's Shidaowan HTR-PM - a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) demonstration project. The unit is scheduled to begin operating later this year.
China General Nuclear听and the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board听have extended their cooperation in the development of nuclear energy in the African country听with the signing of two new agreements.
Hydraulic pressure testing has been completed on the reactor pressure vessel for the demonstration CAP1400 unit to be built at Shidaowan in China's Shandong province.
China and Saudi Arabia have signed a cooperation agreement for a joint study on the feasibility of constructing high-temperature gas-cooled reactors (HTGRs) in the Middle Eastern country.
