NuScale Power, Shell Global Solutions and research participants including Idaho National Laboratory, Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems, Fuel Cell ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß, FPoliSolutions, and GSE Solutions will develop a clean hydrogen production system for use in small modular reactor power plants.

A consortium comprising EDF UK R&D, the UK Atomic ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Authority, the University of Bristol and Urenco has been awarded GBP7.7 million (USD9.3 million) in funding from the UK's Department for Business, ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß & Industrial Strategy to develop a hydrogen storage solution.

¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Harbor has announced it is joining forces with the University of Toledo, major companies in the region and several US DOE laboratories to form an industry-led push to turn "the Midwest into a leading low-carbon fuel production centre".

Core Power, MIT ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Initiative and the Idaho National Laboratory have been granted research funds by the US Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß's Nuclear ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß University Program for a three-year study into the development of offshore floating nuclear power generation in the USA.

Decisive and early government action is needed to embrace the power of nuclear-enabled hydrogen in delivering net-zero, according to the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association.

On the same day that the US Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß moved forward with plans for a programme to develop regional clean hydrogen hubs across the USA, Westinghouse Electric Company and Bloom ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Corporation said they are teaming up to identify and implement clean hydrogen projects across the nuclear industry.
 

The International Atomic ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Agency has launched an initiative to develop a roadmap for the commercial deployment of hydrogen production using nuclear energy. The initiative will culminate in a roadmap guiding document, to provide countries with a tool for evaluating, planning and strategising the development of nuclear hydrogen projects.

The Japan Atomic ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Agency and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will establish a demonstration hydrogen production project at the High-Temperature Test Reactor in Oarai, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Days after it launched a USD6 billion programme to support the continued operation of existing nuclear power plants, the Department of ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß has set in motion its programme to invest USD9.5 billion in clean hydrogen technologies which may include the use of nuclear power.
