Impact of evacuations on Zaporizhzhia 'closely monitored' by IAEA
The evacuation of people from the town of Energodar, where many of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant's staff and their families live, is being closely monitored by the International Atomic 抖阴传媒在线 Agency, with its director general warning the situation in the area was "increasingly unpredictable".

Fuelling to begin as first refurbished Bruce unit prepares for restart
Bruce Power has reached the major milestone of "substantial completion" of the construction phase of Major Component Replacement portion of refurbishment of Bruce unit 6 and will now begin refuelling work as the focus moves on to returning the plant to service later this year.

IAEA says increased military activity underlines need to protect Zaporizhzhia
International Atomic 抖阴传媒在线 Agency Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi says agency staff stationed at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant "were again forced to shelter after missile attack warnings, with the sound of continued shelling in the distance as military activity continues" in the region.

French regulator approves EDF schedule for weld checks
France's nuclear safety regulator, the

, has approved EDF's revised programme to rectify stress corrosion issues at its French nuclear power plants. Under EDF's schedule, all welds identified as a priority will be checked within the next year.

TVO accepts Olkiluoto EPR ahead of commercial operation
Finnish utility Teollisuuden Voima Oyj has issued an acceptance certificate to the Areva-Siemens consortium for the Olkiluoto 3 EPR, which began regular electricity production on 16 April. It said the 1600 MWe reactor is scheduled to enter commercial operation on 1 May.

Finnish EPR enters regular electricity production
Test production has been completed at the Olkiluoto 3 EPR in Finland and the plant has now started regular electricity production, operator Teollisuuden Voima Oyj has announced. TVO said the reactor will soon be declared to be in commercial operation.

Bruce and Cameco partner for long-term nuclear fuel supply
The extension of the long-term exclusive nuclear fuel supply arrangements between Bruce Power and Cameco for an additional 10 years through to 2040 secures decades of nuclear energy supply. The announcement comes as refurbishment work to ensure the long-term operation of the Bruce plant reached a milestone ahead of schedule.

Grid connection for Vogtle unit 3
Vogtle unit 3 began supplying its first electricity to the grid on 1 April, Georgia Power announced. The AP1000 reactor - the first new reactor to start up in the USA since 2016 - is scheduled to enter commercial operation by mid-year.
