Cash injections to aid Japanese utilities
Two Japanese regional power companies have secured capital support totalling ¥150 billion ($1.46 billion) from the state-owned Development Bank of Japan. The move comes as they announced losses for the third consecutive year, while all of Japan's nuclear power reactors remain offline awaiting restart.

More manpower for Japanese regulator
Japan's Nuclear Regulation AuthorityÌýhas completed its previously announced merger with the Japan Nuclear ¶¶Òõ´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Safety Organisation. The move gives the NRA greater resources for processing reactor restart applications.

Hamaoka 4 seeks restart approval

Tohoku seeks Onagawa 2 restart
Tohoku Electric Power Company has requested a safety review by Japan's nuclear regulator of unit 2 at its Onagawa plant, prior to its restart. The Onagawa plant sustained far less damage from the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami than expected.
